Marc Alpert, MD, Board Certified General Surgeon has joined the medical staff of Memorial Hospital and Community Health Associates LLC in Towanda.

Dr. Alpert is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. He completed his surgical internship at Boston University Medical Center, Boston, MA. Surgical residencies were completed at Boston University Medical Center, Boston, MA and Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.

Dr. Alpert completed his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Newark, NJ. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgeons.

Dr. Alpert brings more than 30 years of surgical experience providing both vascular and general surgery. Examples of services include: surgical procedures of the vascular system, arteries and veins; surgery of the abdominal organs including intestines, esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and thyroid gland. He can also help patients with diseases involving the skin, breast, soft tissue and hernias.

Additionally, Dr. Alpert offers comprehensive wound care solutions.

Dr. Alpert and his wife, Hillary, have two adult daughters. He is an avid history buff with an extensive library of more than 5,000 books.

Dr. Lisa Ceraolo, a board-certified Internal Medicine physician, has joined the medical staff of Community Health Associates LLC and the medical staff of Memorial Hospital in Towanda.

Dr. Ceraolo earned her medical degree from the University of Guadalajara in Mexico and New York Medical College in Vallhala, New York. She completed her internal medicine residency program at Lehigh Valley Hospital through Penn State University.

Mary Cotton, CRNP-BC, Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, has joined the Medical Staff of Memorial Hospital and Community Health Associates LLC, Towanda, PA.

Cotton has been employed at Memorial Hospital since 1989 as Nurse Manager of the Critical Care Unit and the Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab and most recently, in addition, served as the Medical Surgical Unit Nurse Manager. She was also the American Heart Association Training Coordinator for Memorial Hospital from 1994 through 2010.

Cotton began her extensive education at Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing, Allentown, PA where she earned her Diploma in 1978. She graduated in 1997 from Elmira College having earned her BSN Degree. In June 2011, Cotton graduated with honors from Drexel University's Nurse Practitioner, Philadelphia, PA.

In her role as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, she cares for the medical needs of young adults through geriatrics. She is active in the medical community and serves with the following professional organizations and activities:

Dr. Timothy Dennen, board certified Family Medicine Physician, has joined the medical staff of Memorial Hospital's Community Health Associates LLC and the medical staff of Memorial Hospital in Towanda.

Dr. Dennen earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his family practice residency program in Williamsport, PA. He was named family practice resident of the year by the Lycoming County Medical Society in 1987.

In 2006, Dr. Dennen was named Fellow with the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Wingrove T. Jarvis, MD, BSC Hons, MBBS, FRCSEd, FRCSGlasg, FRCS(Tr & Orth), Orthopaedic Surgeon, has joined the medical staff of Community Health Associates LLC in Towanda.

Dr. Jarvis is an Antigua and Barbuda national who went to Medical School at the University of the West Indies (Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and the Bahamas). He did electives as a medical student in Paediatric Haematology and Emergency Room Medicine in Canada at Toronto Hospital for Sick Kids and Ontario Mississauga General Hospital respectively.

Dr. Jarvis is recognized as a Specialist in Trauma & Orthopedics by all of the Royal Colleges in the United Kingdom and Ireland. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He comes to the U.S. from the United Kingdom where he did his Orthopaedic Residency in Scotland and England. He is Board Certified in the UK and Ireland.

Dr. Jarvis completed fellowships in Orthopaedic Trauma at the University Hospital of Louisville in Kentucky and in Adult Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at Duke University Medical Center and the Durham VA Hospital in North Carolina.

He specializes in treating musculoskeletal injuries including broken bones and other diseases of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves that allow the patient to move, work and be active.

Dr. Jarvis cares for patients of all ages, from a newborn with an orthopaedic problem to a young athlete requiring arthroscopic surgery to an older individual with diseases such as osteoarthritis of the joints (hips, knees & shoulder) or back pain. He manages special problems of the musculoskeletal system. This involves: diagnosis of an injury or disorder; treatment with medication, exercise and other rehabilitative therapies by recommending physical therapy to restore movement, strength and function; prevention with information and treatment plans to prevent injury or slow the progression of diseases.

Dr. Jarvis will also offer you surgery if your problem can be treated surgically and you do not or will not respond to other treatments.

He specializes in orthopaedic trauma injuries and degenerative diseases of the spine. Dr. Jarvis performs many types of surgeries, among them:
  • Arthroscopy - a procedure using special cameras and equipment to visualize diagnose and treat problems inside a joint.
  • Fusion - a "welding" process by which bones are fused together with bone grafts and internal devices (such as metal rods) to heal into a single solid bone.
  • Internal fixation - a method to hold the broken pieces of bone in proper position with metal plates, pins, rods or screws while the bone is healing.
  • Joint replacement (Partial and total primary joints) - when an arthritic or damaged joint is removed and replaced with an artificial joint called a prosthesis.
  • Osteotomy - the correction of bone deformity by cutting and repositioning the bone.
  • Soft tissue repair - the mending of soft tissue, such as torn tendons or ligaments.

Dr. Jarvis recently wrote a Chapter in The Oxford Textbook of Trauma & Orthopaedics, 2nd Edition, titled "Supracondylar Fractures of the Femur". This is a reference textbook widely used in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the rest of Europe.

Dr. Jarvis and his wife Charmaine have one child, Amy, who is an outstanding swimmer.

Dr. Geeta Krishnan, an accomplished board-certified Otolaryngologist, Ear, Nose and Throat Physician and Surgeon, with more than 26 years of experience, has joined the medical staff of Memorial Hospital's Community Health Associates LLC and the medical staff of Memorial Hospital in Towanda.

Dr. Krishnan earned her MD degree and completed an Otolaryngology residency at T.N.M College in Bombay, India. She completed her surgical residency at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She completed an Otolaryngolgy residency at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Dr. Krishnan has been Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology since 1 980. Dr. Krishnan enjoyed a solo private practice for many years in Danville. In 2006, she moved her solo practice to Sunbury. In February 2009, she joined Memorial Hospital's Community Health Associates. Dr. Krishnan's medical practice is located at Memorial Hospital, 91 Hospital Drive, Towanda.

    Dr. Levin is a graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine; he is Board Certified in Pain Medicine. In addition, he is a Board Certified Anesthesiologist with sub specialized fellowship training at New York University. He has extensive clinical experience and focuses his practice on the interventional treatment of complex pain syndromes and related disorders. He offers the most advance therapies to treat a wide variety of pain disorders.

    Dr. Levin's clinical interests include: spinal degenerative disease; migraine headaches; headaches; complex syndromes following spinal surgery of the back and neck; bulging discs; herniated discs; facet joint disease; neuralgias; complex regional pain syndromes; and numbness or weakness due to pathologies of the spine or nerves.

    As a skilled and experienced pain medicine interventionist, Dr. Levin evaluates each patient to determine the appropriate treatment options and provides individualized care. Brenda Stack, CRNP-BC, Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, has joined the Medical Staff of Memorial Hospital and Community Health Associates LLC, Towanda, PA.

Brenda completed her education at the State University of New York at Binghamton where she earned her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner Certification in May 2013; she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in December 2003; and she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in August 1998.

Brenda's healthcare work experience is comprehensive and incorporates areas of women's health, cardiac care, family medicine, surgical care, orthopedic care, trauma care, emergency care, multi-disciplinary nursing care and more.

Brenda's extensive experience includes working at the Robert Packer Hospital as an ICU staff RN from November 2008 through August 2013.

Brenda resides in Sayre with her husband Jim Madison and their three daughters Emma, Jocelyn, & Acacia along with their two dogs. Brenda's hobbies include reading and gardening.
