Marc Alpert, MD, Board Certified General Surgeon of Memorial Hospital's Community
Health Associates LLC is now available for patient appointments in Troy located at
the new Troy Community Hospital Clinic Entrance, 285 Guthrie Drive, Troy.
Dr. Alpert brings more than 31 years of surgical experience providing general,
thoracic and vascular surgery treatment options as well as non-surgical care.
He offers gastroenterology care (GI) including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy
options. Regular colorectal cancer testing is one of the most powerful weapons
for preventing colorectal cancer or finding it early, when it's easier to treat.
Additionally, Dr. Alpert offers comprehensive, specialized wound care treatment
options for wounds caused by circulatory problems; diabetic foot ulcers; venous
stasis ulcers; pressure sores (bed sores); burns; non-healing surgical wounds;
and post-radiation wounds.
Dr. Alpert has extensive training as a vascular surgeon and he provided successful
treatments for wound care patients for five years at a Healogics wound care center.
For example, when a patient has a wound or sore that has not started to get significantly
better in a month, or has not healed entirely in two months, Dr. Alpert is available to offer treatment options.
Dr. Alpert's surgical services include: surgical procedures of the vascular system,
arteries and veins; surgery of the abdominal organs including intestines, esophagus,
stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and thyroid gland. He can
also help patients with diseases involving the skin, breast, soft tissue and hernias.
Dr. Alpert is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA.
He completed his surgical internship at Boston University Medical Center, Boston, MA.
Surgical residencies were completed at Boston University Medical Center, Boston, MA
and Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.
He completed his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center,
Newark, NJ. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgeons.
Dr. Alpert and his wife, Hillary, have two adult daughters. He is an avid history
buff with an extensive library of more than 5,000 books.
