Finger Painting at Memorial Hospital's Personal Care Home

Shirley Pardoe, right, of Shirley's Ceramics of Dushore works on a craft project with Clara Hauser when she visited
the Personal Care Home of Memorial Hospital in Towanda. Shirley displayed a ceramic chicken she had created using
the finger painting method. She showed a group of residents how to paint using the pad of her finger rather than a brush.
Residents then selected an item and finger painted it. After the items were completed, they were sprayed with a
protective finish and the residents got to keep them. Shirley has been a member of Craftsmen of the Endless Mountains,
Inc. for over 30 years. Craftsmen of the Endless Mountains, Inc. was organized to promote and protect the interests
of workers in the handcrafts and to encourage the study and practice of quality handcrafts. CEM holds three outdoor
shows each summer at the old train station in Dushore and the Flaming Foliage Show in Dushore. When attending the
Towanda Lions Club's Holiday Bazaar on November 10th, be sure to stop and visit Shirley.
