Memorial Hospitalís Personal Care Home Residents
Enjoy Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat Experience

Kenneth Squire, seated in front, a resident of Memorial Hospitalís Personal Care Home, enjoyed the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat cruise with his family. Standing, from left, Denise VanDeLinde, Gloria Sweeley holding baby Sofia, Clara and Jerry Mattocks and Jane Sweeley.

Amber Cook, Activities Coordinator at Memorial Hospitalís Personal Care Home received a generous, anonymous donation of cash with a note simply asking her to pay it forward by providing something extra special for the residents.

The residents got together to talk about ideas for something special and voted to choose a trip to Williamsport for a cruise on the Queen of the Susquehanna Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat.

Transportation to Susquehanna State Park was donated by Kay McNeal. Twenty residents plus staff, volunteers and family members made the trip and enjoyed an hour-long boat cruise and guided historical tour. They could sit and watch all the other boats, jet skis and campers as they slowly floated up and down the beautiful Susquehanna River.

"I want to offer a big thank you for the kindness and generosities of the anonymous gift as well as offer much appreciation to each and every volunteer who helped make this trip an enjoyable success," said Cook.
