Memorial Hospital SNU Medical Director
Gives Interactive Presentation to Residents
Karen Saylor, MD, Gerontologist and Medical Director of Memorial Hospitalís
Skilled Nursing Unit interacted with a large group of residents to share
information about healthy choices. Dr. Saylor gave suggestions such as choosing
healthy snacks. She offered simple demonstrations for exercises that residents
could participate in even from a seated position. Dr. Saylor encouraged residents
to stay alert by participating in activities such as reading, crafts, word puzzles
and playing games to help keep their minds stimulated and occupied. Residents were
delighted with Dr. Saylorís enthusiasm which inspired smiles and laughter around the
room. Tara Sluyter, SNU activities director and volunteer services coordinator said,
"Dr. Saylor is professional, knowledgeable, approachable, experienced and kind-hearted.
We very much appreciate all she does for our residents." For more information about the
