"A Walk In Our Shoes" Display at Memorial Hospital
Promotes Sexual Assault Awareness Month
April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Jeanne Douglas, medical advocate with
the Abuse and Rape Crisis Center (ARCC), proudly displays information and real-life
testimonial stories in the lobby at Memorial Hospital in Towanda. "We are very pleased
to share these stories from actual survivors of sexual violence," says Douglas.
"The shoes represent us all, young and old, male and female, from different walks
of life, but all residents of Bradford County." The ARCC invites the public to stop
by the information table and help themselves to the brochures and handouts in an effort
to educate the community about the devastating results of sexual violence. The ARCC
office can be reached at 265-5333 or in an emergency, please dial 911.
