The Kenneth and Caroline Taylor Family Foundation has joined visionary efforts to
expand community healthcare services at Memorial Hospital with a $100,000 donation.
The generous donation will support the construction of a new three-story facility that
will accommodate an expansion of the Personal Care Home as well as provide office space
for the growing Community Health Associates LLC physician group.
"We very much appreciate this generous financial support from the Kenneth and
Caroline Taylor Family Foundation," said Patty Dawsey on behalf of Memorial Hospital.
"It is our privilege to partner with Kenneth and Caroline Taylor with a shared mission
of enhancing the quality of life in the communities we serve."
According to Jeff Russell, hospital spokesman, said, "This new facility will provide
convenient facilities for medical services for residents, patients and families in our region."
Community Health Associates LLC is a growing medical practice that has maximized existing space.
Physicians are currently located in three different areas on the hospital campus.
By consolidating the Community Health Associates LLC physician group practice into
one facility, patients will enjoy easier access and better parking.
Community Health Associates LLC provides family and internal medicine, pediatrics,
obstetrics and gynecological care, general and vascular surgery, and ear, nose, and throat care.
The Community Health Associates LLC offices located in the communities of Wyalusing and
Dushore will remain open and unaffected by the new construction.
"Expanding the Personal Care Home living space will help meet the needs of individuals
who are now on a waiting list," Russell said. "The new Personal Care Home accommodations
will be spacious and residents will be encouraged to decorate as they please. Residents
can bring their own furniture with them to add a more home-like atmosphere."
The new 32,000 square foot building is under constructed at the southern end of the
existing Personal Care Home facility on the Memorial Hospital campus.
Construction will include 106 parking spaces for convenient access for
patients coming to the new facility to see their doctors.
Construction began in October 2012 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
